Blackout Nov 2

There has been a call for national boycott because of the injustices that have been sprouting up across this US. Citizens who are participating will not be spending any money on Nov 2. It is being embraced by civil rights organizations such as National Action Network, and Realize the Dream who are head by Rev Sharpton and Martin Luther King III, and was spearheaded by Warren Ballentine, the peoples' attorney. The objective is to bring th US economy to its knees which could be possible if people from all races participated in the boycott. there is also a March on Washington planned as well.

just another injustice in the Troy Davis case

Troy Davis is african american male who is currently sitting on death row for the murder of a white police officer, in which, there was eyewitness testimony that was conflicting. there was no physical evidence linking him to the crime, and no murder weapon so he was convicted on witness testimony. The witnesses have since changed their stories but this man sits on death row. Restrictions on federal appeals have made it very difficult Mr. Davis to have a hearing in federal court on the testimony used to put him on death row. This is truly an injustice and warrants the kind of attention that the Jena 6 case got. He really needs the african american community and those outside the community who believe in justice to rally behind him and put pressure on the Governor of Georgia to pardon this man, or commute his sentence if he does not prevail in the courts. His life hangs in the balance. Free Troy Davis.

Commenting on Bill O'Reilly's comments on african anerican restaurant

I believe Bill O'Reilly is a racist idiot who is misinformed and uneducated, and he works for a news station that claims to be fair and balance. He needs to get his facts straight.

The modern day lynching of Michael Vick

First, let me state for the record i don't condone killing anything, but there have been murder cases around this country where perpetrators were either never found, or they received some sort of slap on wrist, i.e., the cops in the amadou diallo shooting. And now, there is an effort to destroy Michael Vick. Since his arrival in the NFL, Michael Vick has used athletic gifts to make the Atlanta Falcons, a playoff contender, and also has become a very popular athlete as well. For his efforts, he signed a 130 million dollar contract in 2004. Michael Vick's accomplishments on the have become a distant memory to people. In this year, Michael Vick was indicted on federal dogfighting charges, in which, he pleaded guilty to. He could get up to 5 years in prison for those, and the state of VA has indicted him as well. I believe this is overkill. Va should have never brought charges against Michael Vick, but he had pleaded guilty to federal charges so prosecutors probably felt they could easily convict him on state charges as well. He probably plead guilty to the state charges as well. Prison time of more than a year would be the end of Michael Vick's career, and personally, i don't believe that he should face prison time for what he did. There are those who get no time for murdering human being. He should get some sort of probation, and pay hefty fine.

White Supremacist Leader post Jena 6's addresses and phone numbers on website

Any decent american who is black, white, or brown was probably outraged about the jena six because it was truly a miscarriage of justice, but unfortunately, we still have white supremacists in this country. Bill White, leader of the American National Socialist Worker's Party, posted the addresses, and telephone numbers of the Jena 6's families on a website, and was quoted in saying to readers " get in touch and let them no justice is coming". Basically, he was talking about dealing out white justice to the Jena 6. the Rev Al Sharpton's information has been since added. I just believe this man is a very sick human being. He is consumed with hatred and bigotry, and will remain this way for the remainder of his life. I believe if he had his way all people of color in the United States would be executed. The federal government has been investigating the website. The lives of the Jena 6 and their families could be in danger because of this. I believe that White should pay for that. Some blackjustice needs to be delivered to him.

Justice for Megan Williams and Genarlow Wilson

Megan Williams, 20, from West Virginia was beaten, stabbed, tortured, sexually assaulted, and forced to eat rat feces. If anyone deserves justice, Megan Williams does. The suspects have been charged with sexual assault, kidnapping, and lying to police about the kidnapping. The kidnapping charge carries a life sentence. I hope that these people are prosecuted to the to fullest extent of the law. they should not be able to see the light of day again for their actions. Genarlow Wilson must also receive justice. He still remains in prison for consensual sex with a young lady who at the time was 2 years younger. there needs to be rallies for both of these young people. In the words of Dr king, " Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

countdown to jena

It is getting closer to Sep 20 2007 will be the date when thousands are expected to descend upon Jena, Louisiana in support of the Jena six. Those who are unable to go have been ask to wear all black for the jena six. I will be doing that. Many people have heard the news that the conviction of mychal bell for aggravated assault had been thrown out by a 3rd circuit court of Appeals court in Louisiana because at the time of the incident he was a minor, and had decided that the rally was no longer necessary because of this, but the District Attorney Reed Walters is appealing the Appeals court's decision. If he loses the appeal, Mychal Bell is far from out of the woods because he will still be ajudicated by the juvenile court system, and also the other five young men were 17 so they can be tried as adults which could mean possibly years in prison if convicted. Rev Al Sharpton, Warren Balentine who is the people's attorney, and Michael Baisden understand this and know that the rally has to be intensified. In the past few days, they have alerted the public that there is no time to celebrate the work has just begun. The rally is all about shing light on Jena to put pressure on the district attorney to dropped all the charges and let the young men go free because they shouldn't be serving time for a school yard fight. all charges dropped would be justice in my book. anything less is unacceptable.

jena six exposure

i really like the fact that many leaders, radio personalities, and others from all walks of life have gotten involved and have made the Jena six, a national issue, and it should because the justice system is handing out its brand of injustice to african american youth as it usually does. Michael Baisden who is a talk show host out of Atlanta is spearheading a rally in Jena, Lousiana to show support for the Jena six. I, myself, would like to think the people's attorney, Warren Balentine, for his persistence on this issue. Daily, the people's attorney has managed to keep this case on the front burner not allowing the african american community to let the jena six become an after thought. There needs to be more of this concerted effort among civil rights organizations, business leaders, black academia, politicians such as the Congressional BlackCaucus, professional athletes, and radio, and tv personalities in the african american community to be more a part of fighting the injustices that the african american community confronts on a daily basis. Those of us who don't have a large influence can just simply get involved by donating to a cause, or participating in rallies
